Summer Friday Night Football 2024: 15th Nov - 6th Dec
Summer Football is designed to be a fun, family football experience. It is about enjoyment and participation above all else, encouraging happy, active kids in our community.
General information
- Teams are listed below, along with the Manager for each team
- The draw for each week will be emailed and posted on Facebook the Monday before game day
- This year one team per match will wear bibs, as opposed to t-shirts colours we have done in previous years. The club will provide bibs on the day.
- The pitch layout can be found at the bottom of this page (which will also be emailed out each week)
- Kids are strongly encouraged to wear shin pads, sports shoes or football boots (no metal sprigs)
- Team Managers - For those parents who offered to manage teams, thank you very much for offering your time. Your main role is to ensure that kids in your team get an even amount of game time. For those managing Pre-school/Year 0 and Year 1/2, there are no referees, therefore it's expected you help run the games and enforce the rules as defined below.
Years 3 - 8 rules
- 7-a-side teams
- Referees will be provided
- Throw-ins from sideline
- Goalkeepers can only throw the ball or kick from the ground (no kicks or punts out of the hands)
- Normal offside rules apply. The retreating line is the off side line. A player is in an offside position if they are nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent (at the point the ball is passed to them).
- Attacking players must be behind the retreating line when the goalkeeper restarts from a goal kick or open play and cannot advance until an opposition player has touched the ball or the ball has gone over the retreating line without being touched.
- 15 minutes each way
- 3-minute Halftime (quick drink, change ends and restart)
Pre-school - Years 2 rules
- 5-a-side teams
- No referees will be provided, therefore team managers to need to help enforce rules
- Kick in only (no throw ins)
- No goalkeepers
- No offside (however encourage kids not to be blatantly offside)
- 15 minutes each way
- 3-minute Halftime (quick drink, change ends and restart)
